The recycling operation Allan Morris Staff

History of Allan Morris

Allan Morris Transport was established in 1893 as a coal and agricultural contractor, based in Saltney. Under the ownership of the Morris family the business developed into one of Cheshire's largest coal companies. After WWII the company moved to Liverpool Road in Chester and was sold by the Morris family in 1973 to the Lancashire Cooperative who subsequently sold to Amalgamated Anthracite Holdings (AAH) in 1979.

The company evolved into a major road transport company, builders merchant, oil distribution and coal factoring company. In 1983 Brian Lee purchased the transport business from AAH and focussed on bulk haulage. Allan Morris Transport was one of the first transport companies in the UK to introduce moving floor trailers. The company has continued to grow and develop as a leading provider of haulage solutions through continuous investment and improvement.

In 2008 Brian Lee established AM Recycling Ltd to develop the range of services offered to the recycling industry.
